Thoroughbred horse racing is back at New Kent County on Monday, July 19, as Colonial Downs Group enters its third year of racing in the Commonwealth.

Races are currently underway and will occur every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday with $500,000 in daily purses for seven weeks, ending on September 1. Post time each day will be at 1:45 pm. General admission and parking are free, and reserved grandstand seating starts at just five dollars. Tickets are on sale now at www.colonialdowns.com.

Fans can look for special free giveaway promotions on August 3, August 18, and August 24. Bets can be placed at the track, at any Rosie’s Gaming Emporium® location in Virginia, and Virginia Horseplay locations. Fans can also follow every race, every day on the TVG network and at www.tvg.com

Jill Byrne, vice president of racing operations at Colonial Downs Group, said, “We are so excited to have the best horses and horsemen from across the country and the best fans from the Richmond region and beyond returning for live racing in New Kent County this summer.”

John Marshall, executive vice president of operations at Colonial Downs Group, stated, “We have worked incredibly hard preparing for fans to return and our team is ready to have fun and provide some of the best entertainment available in Virginia. We look forward to seeing lots of people come back out to see what we have to offer. We promise they won’t be disappointed.”
