Botetourt County was saddened to learn the news that Tony Zerilla, Director of Financial Services for Botetourt over the last 20-plus years, passed away last Tuesday.
“Botetourt County is deeply saddened to share the news that our beloved Finance Director Tony Zerrilla passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 after a short illness,” County Administrator Gary Larrowe shared on behalf of the county last week.
“Tony had faithfully served Botetourt for more than 23 years and was a wonderful man, as we can all attest. Not only did Tony love his family, he also loved his work family. Tony touched many lives during his time serving the county. Not only was he a dedicated public servant, but he was also a resident who left a lasting impression on so many. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with the entire Zerrilla family as we come together with them to mourn the loss of our friend. We will continue to honor Tony’s legacy by providing exemplary service to our citizens. We will miss you, TZ.”
A celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, at Rainbow Forest Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Grooms and Pastor Jonathan Richardson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
