Residents and visitors are invited to attend a courthouse topping-off ceremony June 26 at the courthouse construction site in Fincastle.
According to an announcement distributed by organizers, the event will begin at 1 p.m. at the construction site, located at 1 W. Main Street. The ceremony will mark the raising of the new steeple on Fincastle’s fifth courthouse.
The announcement states the event will include brief remarks and a ceremonial observance recognizing the project reaching its highest point.
Free ice cream and toppings will be provided following the ceremony by Historic Fincastle Inc.
Organizers are encouraging members of the public to attend the event and witness what they described as a proud moment in the continuing history of Botetourt County.
