Wesley L. Crow, 83, of Troutville, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024.

He was born on May 4, 1941 in Salisbury, North Carolina and had been happily married to his high school sweetheart, Diane Crow, for 61 years. He retired in 1999 from Piedmont/US Airways as an avionics technician/mechanic.

Wesley was the son of Erwin Eli and Edith Lomax Crow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Crow; and one brother, Bill Crow.

Wes is survived by two daughters, Regina (Gary) Kempic, Leslie C. (Lee) Dunbar; son, Marty L. (Allison) Crow; eight grandchildren, Nina Kempic, Jacob Kempic, Brianna (Benjamin) Diaz, Madison Crow, Molly Crow, Lydia Dunbar, McKenzie Crow and Eli Crow; one great-grandchild, Benson Diaz; two sisters, Barbara Ritchie and Mary Alice Leach.

He was a faithful member of Ebenezer UMC from 1977 to 2017 and Thrasher Memorial UMC from 2017 to present. Wes could fix or repair anything. He enjoyed using those skills to support his church, community and family. Wes loved being involved with his family’s life, never missing an opportunity watching his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Oakey’s East Chapel with the Rev. John Hemming officiating. Interment was in Mill Creek Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday, August 19, 6 to 8 p.m. and two hours prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Those wishing to make a memorial, please consider the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements were by Oakey’s East Chapel, 540-977-3909.
