Registered Nurse Tracy Heinze is shown with Daleville-Fincastle Lions President Josh Werle.

Tracy Heinze, a Registered Nurse specializing in diabetes, spoke to the Daleville-Fincastle Lions at their August 20 meeting at Leonardo’s in Fincastle. She provided information to the Lions on steps to take to minimize the chances of getting Type II Diabetes. Tracy is employed by Carilion and lives in Daleville.

Members of the Lions Club are gearing up for a busy September.  They are performing vision screening in the public schools in Botetourt, are participating in a fundraiser at the September 21 Daleville Fuzzy Logic concert, and have a walking team and volunteers participating in the JDRF Walk on September 22.

The public is always invited to attend a meeting to learn more about the organization whose motto is to “Serve Others.”  The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month at noon at The Glebe in the Game Room and has a night meeting on the third Tuesday which is held at 6 p.m. at a local restaurant.  For more information, email dalevillelions@gmail.com or check out the Facebook page “Daleville Fincastle Lions.”
