Members of the Daleville/Fincastle Lions set up a vision screening station at the Botetourt Extravaganza held April 6 at the YMCA. They screened 14 adults (two received results indicating a complete eye exam was recommended) and 50 children (10 of which possibly need a complete eye exam), and they gave out eight pairs of free reader glasses. The members had an opportunity to talk with the public and explain the goals of the Lions Club, inviting all to attend any meeting.

Grace Warman, an honor student at Read Mountain Middle, helped work the area to earn community service hours. Six members of the Lions Club worked during the event.

In other Lion news, at the April 3 meeting three members received their Charter Membership Certificates.

The public is invited to the April 16th meeting to be held at 6 p.m. at Lentini’s. A guest speaker from Matthew’s Child will talk about the organization and how it interacts with placing children in foster homes. Dinner is available for those who would like to buy it when they arrive and are seated.
