The property owner and developers for a proposed 170-lot, zero-lot-line subdivision on Greenfield Street in Daleville asked the Board of Supervisors to postpone a public hearing for rezoning the 78.95-acre property until September or October.

The supervisors’ public hearing was scheduled for Tuesday evening (after press deadline). Generally, the supervisors agree to table zoning-related requests that come from the applicant.

The request by VJL LLC’s and Courtland Meadow LLC’s to rezone the parcel that fronts on Greenfield Street from Agriculture A-1 to Residential R-3 Medium Density for the single-family home development came to the supervisors with no recommendation from the Planning Commission, but with considerable opposition from Greenfield Street residents and residents of Ashley Plantation.

The Planning Commission deadlocked over the rezoning request after its public hearing July 9 before agreeing to send no recommendation to the supervisors.

Last Thursday, the Board of Supervisors received the request to table the public hearing from Benton Bolton, the managing partner for VJL LLC, which owns the property.
