Dooley, Madorah Clements

Madorah Clements Dooley, 95, of Troutville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hobart Guy Dooley, Jr., with whom she shared 62 memorable years. Together, they built a family rooted in love, respect, and faith. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edwin L. Clements and Lula Martin Clements, as well as her brother, E. Bryant Clements.

Madorah is survived by her five children, Steven G. Dooley (Phyllis), Renee Hiller (Doug), Rita Patsel (Roy), Rhonda Wilhelm (Bill), and Mona Ferguson (Brent); 10 grandchildren, Steven Craig Dooley (Holly), Eric Dooley, Josh Patsel, Jeremy Patsel (Mindy), Jared Patsel, Meagan Trivellin (Coty), Chase Wilhelm, Chris Ferguson, Jeff Ferguson, Sarah Varga (Kevin).  She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Luke and McKenna Dooley, Eli and Isaac Patsel, Maggie and Mack Trivellin, baby Varga; and her step-granddaughter, Christie Patsel Campbell (Claude); and three step-great-grandchildren, Olivia Campbell, Rebecca and Reese Warren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Nancy D. Aliff and Barbara G. Clements, who was always like a sister she never had; special nephew and niece, Curtis Clements and Kim Gilbert; and a special caring friend, Freddie Arnold.

Madorah spent her life being the heart and soul of her family. She was known for her gentle spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and kind generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength.  As a lifelong Lutheran, she lived her life with a deep faith and a steadfast belief in the love of God.

Madorah’s family would like to thank the Rev. David Derrick of St. Philip Lutheran Church for his spiritual support and kindness during this time.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Oakey’s East Chapel with the Rev. Keith Olivier officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family received friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, S.C.  29605 or to a charity of your choice.
