In honor of their father’s 80th birthday, Donald Helms Jr. and Donna Flowers are determined to spread awareness and raise funds for Alpha-1 by organizing a Drive-In movie night at Hull’s Drive-In in Lexington. On Thursday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. The Helms and Flowers families are excited to invite the local community to watch “Thunder Road”—their dad’s favorite movie that was also locally filmed in Southern Western Virginia. They are excited for a great night of awareness and to bring back a fun night of an old-time tradition of the drive-in. It has been so many years since their dad had attended one.
Donna’s brother, Donald Jr. is the recent receipt of a liver transplant. He received his transplant at Duke Medical Center in July 2022. The family learned of their Alpha-1 diagnosis through Donald’s diagnosis about seven years ago.
Proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Alpha-1 Foundation programs and research. For movie information, contact Donna Flowers at firstname.lastname@example.org or 252-289-0034 to purchase tickets for $20 per car click here: http://hullsdrivein.com
