Drive-up baccalaureate services for the Class of 2020 graduates of Botetourt County Public Schools were held on Sunday. The service for James River High School was held at Limestone Park at 1:30 p.m. The service for Lord Botetourt High School was held at Bonsack Baptist Church at 3 p.m.
Coverage of the online graduation ceremonies (Lord Botetourt on May 18 and James River on May 19) will appear in next week’s edition of The Herald.
Diploma pickup times are today from 12-2 p.m. and tomorrow from 2-4 p.m. at the respective high schools.
Dr. Larry Massie, interim superintendent, said the following in regard to graduation in a May 6 announcement, “There will be a traditional, in-person graduation held for James River High School and Lord Botetourt High School just as soon as the Governor of Virginia will allow large gatherings of people. It is not possible to determine the date of the traditional exercises at this time, but be assured that they will take place as soon as possible.”
