The January meeting of the Eagle Rock Ruritan Club marked the annual planning meeting for the new year. Committee members reviewed the objectives for the five Community Service Committees as well as the five Standing Committees. The resulting lists of objectives form the guidelines for the work of the club for the coming year. The extensive list of club objectives range from the nitty-gritty hands-on task of picking up litter along the road in and around Eagle Rock to the lofty goal of granting thousands of dollars in scholarships to James River High School students from the Eagle Rock area.

Another important bit of business for the January meeting was the election and installation of officers for 2023 as follows: President Beth Leffel,, Vice-President Donna Vaughn, Secretary Tommy Hunter, and Treasurer Steve Vaughn. The officers were installed by Robert McRae, club chaplain.

The Eagle Rock Ruritan Club continues to offer the use of the Eagle Rock Community Center for family and other group activities for a reasonable fee to help with utilities.
