Early voting is in full swing in Botetourt County with 994 people voting as of 10 a.m. Monday. Election officials said the process is going smoothly. Registered voters can cast their ballots early until Oct. 31. Officials said voters do not have to have an appointment to cast their ballots and can be done Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 2 E. Main Street, Fincastle. The office doesn’t close for lunch. If a voter requested a mail-in ballot, but decides to vote in person, they must bring the mail-in ballot with them. On Saturday, Oct. 24, voters can vote from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
