Chicago Reloaded rescheduled for June 22
Daleville Institute rescheduled last Thursday’s Party at the Pavilion at Daleville Town Center because of the weather.
Chicago Reloaded ‘Chicago Tribute Band’ will be on the Pavilion stage this Thursday, June 22. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music goes until 9 p.m. Admission is $5 with 12 and under free.
Movie on the Green Friday at DTC
Daleville Institute Inc. is having Movie on the Green Friday, June 23 at 6 p.m.
The community is invited to see a free showing of “La La Land” with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
Coloring time at Resource Center
The Botetourt Resource Center Inc. is offering time and a free place to adults 60 years and older who would like to come and color for an hour on Monday, June 26 at 10 a.m.
There is no charge for materials; however, the center asks that you call 254-1468 to leave a reservation by June 23 if you would like to attend.

- Buchanan Fourth of July Fireworks – Burleigh Gilliam and his team of technicians will be heading up the fireworks display for the 64th Buchanan Community Carnival on Tuesday, July 4. Joining Burleigh for the fireworks display are his two sons, Daniel and Benjamin Gilliam, along with Jared Whiting, Bou Hensley and other newer recruits. This year’s fireworks display is scheduled for 10 p.m. If you wish to make a donation to help cover expenses, contact the Buchanan Town Hall at 254-1212.
‘Healthy Snacks for Youth’ June 22
Becky Allen, Master Food Volunteer, is returning to the Buchanan Library with a program on “Healthy Snacks for Youth.” Everyone will learn about making and eating healthy snacks as part of children’s daily diets. Becky will also being asking children from the audience to participate in helping her to make the snacks with healthy and tasty ingredients. Adults will enjoy these snacks also. “Healthy Snacks for Youth” will be held on June 22 at 11 a.m. at the Buchanan Library. The program is free and open to the Public. ‘Sundaes on Sunday’ at Eagle Rock
The Eagle Rock Fire and Rescue Department is having “Sundaes on Sunday” again this summer. The remaining dates are July 9, August 13 and September 10 from 3-6 p.m. Twelve toppings, whipped cream and cherries will be available. The members will also be serving hot fudge brownies and banana splits. The first scoop for sundaes is $2, and additional scoops are $1; hot fudge brownies are $5 and banana splits, $6.
