VFW spaghetti dinner November 3

VFW Post 1841 at 4902 Roanoke Road (US 220) will have a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 5-7 p.m. at the post location in Daleville.  Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years. Dinner includes spaghetti w/meat sauce, salad, garlic bread and drink. Desserts will be available at extra cost.  Eat in or take out.  Contact Louis Silcox at 540-556-1625, or Alice at 992-3360 for tickets.

 

 

‘Tremendous Trees’ at Buchanan Library

Master Gardener Donna Haley will present a program on “Tremendous Trees” at the Buchanan Library at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.  This program focuses on individual famous tress and urban forestry. Trees across the country and Virginia will be featured in this program.  Everyone is invited to attend the “Tremendous Tree” program and enjoy a virtual tour of these famous trees and learn about urban forestry. The Buchanan Library is located at 19795 Main Street, 928-3005.

 

 

Fincastle fish fry November 16

The Knights of Columbus will sponsor a fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at the Church of the Transfiguration, 7624 Roanoke Road, Fincastle. Eat in or take out; the cost is $9 for ages 8 through adult; no charge for ages 7 and under. The meal is lightly breaded flounder (chicken nuggets for children), homemade slaw, sweet cornbread, fries and dessert. There will be a 50/50 drawing. No advance tickets are sold. Proceeds to benefit local charities. For more information, call 540-904-3126.

 

 

Events at Eagle Rock Library

Storytime for all ages is being held at Eagle Rock Library at 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays. Storytime will have fingerplays, musical instrument time and crafts each week.

The Breakfast Club will meet every Monday from 8-9 a.m. at the library. All are invited to have breakfast with the branch manager each week before the library opens. Free coffee and food are provided, but feel free to bring a treat to share.
