Eugene and Florence Francisco

There’s never a dull moment when you are around Eugene and Florence Francisco. Their contagious love and wit draws people close to them. Last week, they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on February 20, 2017. Eugene was born May 21, 1922 and Florence was born June 12, 1923.

Eugene and Florence moved to Craig in 1972.  Before that, they lived near Mason’s Cove in Roanoke County.  Eugene is a World War II Veteran and retired from the VA Hospital.  Florence supported him by being a stay-at-home mother to their two daughters, Carolyn and Linda and their two sons Barry and Mike. They also now have seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren whom they totally adore.

Family and friends agree, by saying that they believe patience, love, faith and trust in each other kept them together. “He kids around and says because they were married by a woman, they aren’t really married,” his son, Barry shared.

“What we probably love the most about them is their love for their family and all the stories they tell about the past,” Barry and his wife Becky said. “They always know how to keep us entertained with their stories!”
