Fincastle Dates to Remember for Nov. 16 Edition

  • November 17 – 3 to 4:30 p.m. Therapy Dog reading session at the Fincastle Library
  • November 18 – 11 a.m. Senior Social at Fincastle Baptist Church
  • November 18, all day – Fincastle Volunteers and Xfinity will be putting up Christmas decorations all day. Drivers are encouraged to be aware of the work crews.
  • November 21 – 4 to 5 p.m. Lego Club, Fincastle Library.
  • December 2 – 5:30 p.m. Opening night for the Botetourt Chamber Tinsel Trail. Traffic in town will be heavy. For more details, visit: https://botetourt.glueup.com/event/3rd-annual-first-bank-tinsel-trail-46796/home.html.
  • December 3 – 2 p.m. Fincastle Christmas Parade – Lineup starts at Breckinridge Elementary School at 1 p.m. Parade typically goes until 4 p.m. Many street closures in town.
  • December 9 – 6 to 8 p.m. Tinsel Trail special event – hot chocolate served at the courthouse and special appearances by the Grinch and Whoville Whos.
  • December 10 – 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Historic Fincastle Art and Craft Holiday Market, Fincastle Baptist Church just outside of town limits.
  • December 16 – 6 to 8 p.m. Tinsel Trail special event, hot chocolate served at the courthouse and special appearances by the Grinch and Whoville Whos.
  • December 17 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Avenue Black holiday pop-up market event. Portions of S. Church Street will be closed. Stay up to date on by checking the Facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/shopavenueblack.
  • December 31 – 9 p.m. until ? –Fincastle New Year’s “Ringing of the Bells”
  • Sometime in December/January: The first phase of the Botetourt County Courthouse construction will begin. The first phase construction time schedule will soon be available. According to town management, it is not anticipated that this phase will affect traffic patterns.
