Fincastle Fall Run early registration ends Oct. 6

Early registration for the 31st annual The Bank of Fincastle 5K & 10 Fall Run is October 6.

The Fall Run Saturday, Oct. 17.

This year, online registration is available through www.runsignup.com and the bank’s website at www.bankoffincastle.com. Paper registration brochures are also available at any Bank of Fincastle branch location.

The race, featuring 5K and 10K events, winds through the Town of Fincastle. Everyone who registers by the October 6 early registration is guaranteed one of the traditional, custom long-sleeve race shirts featuring a wildlife theme.

The 5K and 10K races begin and end at Central Academy Middle School. The starting gun is at 9 a.m. The Fall Run ends back at Central Academy for an awards ceremony and refreshments.

Custom medals and trophies are also presented to the top individual, first, second and third place runners in adult and youth age groups, as well as runners who compete as elementary, middle school, high school and open teams.

The race will again use a chip-timing system again to allow allows the race organizers to post real-time results online and during the run for everyone to view immediately.

The Bank of Fincastle provides a $1,000 scholarship each year to a student from James River or Lord Botetourt High School who has participated in a previous Fall Run.
