The 2024 Fincastle Festival arrived on Saturday following the county dealing with the affects of Hurricane Helene which touched down on the shores of northwestern Florida late Thursday night.

A beautiful day brought a large crowd as the streets of downtown Fincastle were met with vendors, musicians, and information about the town’s history. Music reverberated throughout the event, coupled with attendees joyously congregating throughout the event’s various activities.

The Botetourt County Museum of History & Culture saw many visitors.

People had the opportunity to visit several artists, crafters, and food providers which included selections from BK Festival Eats, Ferguson Family Provisions, Hangrcy Ambulance, The Countryman Jamaican Food Truck, and more.

Revolutionary War Interpreters were camped out at the James Matten Early Cabin offering educational information to all visitors. The Little Critters Traveling Petting Zoo and Pony Rides were set up in Wysong Park along with Blacksmith Dewey Baker giving live demonstrations.

The Botetourt Museum of History & Culture was open for event attendees to visit learning more about the county and town’s history and a special “History Talks” session with local historians Weldon Martin, Ed Holt, and Bo Trumbo.
