Although Friday June 7 was a rainy, overcast day, it did not hinder the spirits of the Fincastle High School Class of 1959. The last class of Fincastle High graduated in the Breckinridge Elementary School gymnasium on June 3, 1959. It graduated 32 members that year. Sixty years later, the Class of 1959 celebrated its milestone reunion across the road from where the old school once stood, having lunch at the Fincastle United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Deceased members were remembered in prayer. The class prophecy was reread and, amazingly, not many of the predictions came true. There was much reminiscing and lots of interesting stories. The member who came the greatest distance was Joyce Henderson Looger from Madison, Ala.
