Fincastle residents and visitors lined the streets of the historical district last Saturday to enjoy the sights and sounds of the annual Christmas parade.

This year’s event saw a welcome return as friends and family donned their Christmas attire and stood together as they enjoyed the many floats of local Botetourt County organizations and businesses riding through town spreading Christmas cheer.

Recently retired Breckinridge Elementary School teacher Donna de Simone led the procession as the parade’s grand marshal in a Corvette provided by the Star City Corvette Club.

Some of the floats and groups walking the parade included: Botetourt County Volunteer Fire & EMS departments, the Lord Botetourt FFA, Fincastle Baptist Church, Team 3939 of the Botetourt 4-H Robotics Club, the James River High School Booster Club, the Floyd Ward School of Dance, First Bank, the 4-H Honey Club, Fincastle Preschool, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Premier Home Medical, Carrington Cottage, Brent Hershey State Farm, the Star City Corvette Club, and the James River High School and Lord Botetourt High School marching bands.
