The Town of Fincastle’s annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat event was a success this year, drawing an estimated 400 trick-or-treaters—up from about 300 last year.
Families filled the streets as residents and local businesses handed out candy and treats. Town officials credited the increased turnout to strong community participation and mild weather.
“We were thrilled to see so many families out enjoying themselves,” said Mayor Mary Bess Smith. “It’s wonderful to see our community come together for such a fun and safe evening.”
Special recognition went to the Haunted House on Hancock Street, which provided plenty of jump scares for brave visitors, and to Academy Hill, where organizers created a festive drive-thru experience for families.
The Town of Fincastle extended its appreciation to everyone who helped make the night possible—from residents and business owners who handed out candy, and to the volunteers who kept the event running smoothly. Special thanks were given to Dean and Angela Clemons, Becky Downs, Crystal Wright, Ayla Whiting, and Henry Booze for their help with candy distribution.
Additional thanks went to Sheriff Woody (Matt Ward) and his deputies, who kicked off the festivities and ensured safety throughout the evening.
With this year’s strong turnout, town officials are already looking ahead. “We can’t wait to do it again next year,” organizers said. “See you in 2026!”
