Attic Productions is bringing the explosive movie musical to the live stage–“Footloose, the Musical,” adapted for stage by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, with music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Dean Pitchford.

As noted by the publisher, “With dynamic new songs augmenting the powerhouse hits from its bestselling Oscar-nominated score, ‘Footloose’ celebrates the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to one another, and the power of forgiveness.”

A large, talented, local cast has been working hard this summer to bring this production to life, directed by Kerry Williams, along with musical director Katie Miner and choreographer Mandy Masching. The show will be presented at Attic’s D. Geraldine Lawson Performing Arts Center, 7490 Roanoke Road, Fincastle, August 15-September 1. Thursday and Friday evening shows begin at 7:30, and Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2:30. Please note: This show contains mild adult themes and language.

Adult tickets are $20, students 18 and under and groups of 10 or more are $15 when paid in cash or by check at the box office. A $2 convenience fee per ticket will be added if paying with a card.

Tickets may be purchased on the Attic Productions website by visiting www.atticproductions.info.  For questions or assistance with purchasing tickets, call the box office at 540-473-1001. Volunteers are staffing the box office for this show on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. Leave a message at other times and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

This show is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. Partial funding support comes from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
