Free car seat check scheduled Sept. 19 in Daleville
Parents and caregivers can have their children’s car seats checked for proper installation during a free safety event Sept. 19 in Daleville.
The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, Carilion Children’s and Safe Kids Southwest Virginia will host the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kroger parking lot at 72 Kingston Drive.
Certified child passenger safety technicians will help families ensure seats are properly installed and used.
According to information provided by Botetourt County, Virginia law requires children younger than 8 to be properly secured in an approved child restraint system.
Families needing assistance obtaining a car seat may also qualify for the state’s low-income safety-seat program.
