The Buchanan Lions Club will present “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” free to the public on July 25 at sunset (8:30 p.m.) at the Buchanan Community Park. With renovations at the historic Buchanan Theatre now underway, the Lions will show G-Rated movies numerous times over the next year.
With funding help from the Buchanan Library, the Buchanan Lions, Friends of the Buchanan Library, and the Town Improvement Society, the Lions will present the movies with the coordinated help of Botetourt Parks and Recreation and the Buchanan Theatre.
The Lions suggest that people bring folding chairs, a blanket and bug spray, and to please turn off all cell phones or leave them locked in their cars. Snacks and refreshments will be available including sodas, popcorn and homemade cookies. Parking is free. Arrive early for best seating.
The organizers encourage all families and children to enjoy Buchanan’s fun family event evening (weather permitting). They will also be polling the audience at the food tables for the next G-Rated showing in August.
