The Bank of Fincastle presented a contribution to the Backpack Buddies of Fincastle United Methodist Church under the bank’s Healthy Living Initiative. The Backpack Buddies program provides two days of meals and snacks each weekend during the school year for elementary students who might otherwise go hungry over the weekend. This weekend program supports about a dozen students, and volunteers from the church meet each Wednesday to pack the backpacks. Thanks to this donation from the bank and ongoing donations from church members, the Backpack Buddies is a successful program. Pictured here is volunteer Doug Ross with the Rev.
