The hopes for the future were on display at Lord Botetourt High School last week as Cavalier varsity coach Andrew Hart, along with his assistants and players, held their annual “Future Cavs” camp. Many of the youngsters sported NBA-style jerseys at the camp and, as you might expect, recent NBA championship series MVP Stephen Curry got a lot of support. Here, five members of the camp pose with their Golden State number 30 jerseys. Coach Hart, talking to the group, had the attention of the campers as he introduced guest speaker Jason Cook, standing in the back. Jason is a former assistant at Cave Spring who was on the staff when JJ Redick played for the Knights. Jason is now a pastor at Valley Church and has two children who graduated from LB and a third son, who is in the sixth grade.
