Botetourt County will host its first Environmental Expo at the Greenfield Education and Training Center in Daleville on Friday, June 18.

This free event will showcase “green” businesses and organizations in the area.

Businesses and organizations that are interested in participating should contact Management Assistant Christine Liana in the County Administrator’s Office at 473-8233 no later than June 11.

According to a news release from the county, the Environmental Expo will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about businesses that are making strides to promote and operate environmentally-responsible practices.

The public is invited to attend where they can visit exhibitor booths and see educational displays.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to recycle their household electronics, printer cartridges, dry-cell batteries and cell phones at the Expo.

“There are many opportunities to conserve our resources and enhance our quality of life. The Environmental Expo will allow all of us to see what is available and how we can use it in our day-to-day activities,” says Public Works Manager Ron Smith.

The expo will run from 2-6 p.m.
