The Virginia Championship Hare Scramble Series held its annual awards banquet in Williamsburg on January 21. Jeffrey Martin (left) of Buchanan is the 2016 State Champion in the 9- to 11-year-old division. Briar Marsh (right) of Buchanan won second place in the 9-to-11 division. Other local winners include Alex Metz of Fincastle, who placed third in the 12- to 13-year-old mini division, and Patrick Tucker of Eagle Rock, second in the 12-13 super mini class. Monte Orr of Fincastle is the 48+A class champion, and Buchanan’s Justin Marsh is state champion in the 30+B class.
