The James River junior varsity volleyball team defeated Radford and Carroll County last week to win the Three Rivers District JV championship.
River beat Radford in the first round in three sets, 25-13, 25-13 and 25-8. The JV Knights then topped Carroll in the championship match in three, 25-17, 25-23 and 25-17.
Jadyn Miller led the Knights with seven kills, two aces and seven digs. Emma Bobbitt had three blocks, six aces and six digs, while Kaylyn Bryant had 16 digs and three aces to go with a pair of kill. Ava Thacker had 28 digs and three aces and Abbie Wilson had 25 digs for River.
The team finished the season with a final record of 16-4.
