Sonja Fay Jecminek, 75, of Roanoke passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023.
She was born January 1, 1948 in Christiansburg, Va. and lived in Roanoke her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Hazel P. Fulcher and David E. Fulcher. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Brenda Lugar and Teresa Hodges.
She is survived by her beloved husband and devoted caregiver, Charles (Chuck) Jecminek; daughter, Stephanie (Larry) Harris; son, Stephen (Barbara) Anderson; and her step-children, Julie Bratcher , Lenny Jecminek and Gina Jecminek. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Kendra and Jonathan Harris, Ainsley Anderson, Lauren (John) Brock and Andrew Sarver; and her siblings, sister, Peggy Bishop, and brother, David A. Fulcher. Also surviving are numerous, loving step-grandchildren, sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Sonja’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Oakey’s East Chapel with Pastor David Derrick officiating. Entombment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 15.
