Clara was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord, her family, as well as her church family. Clara loved to travel, tend to her raised vegetable garden and rose bushes. Pink roses were her favorite. What she loved most was spending time with her family and telling anyone who would listen and showing pictures of her two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter who will be arriving soon. She was assistant manager of Heironimus in Roanoke and had retired as manager of Rack Room Shoes in Roanoke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Wade, Sr. and Mary Elsie Ferguson Painter; brothers, Bruce Painter, Jr., Raymond Painter, and Wayne Painter, Sr.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Danny Ray Joyce; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Garret Ware; grandchildren, Dustin and Diane Ware, Brooke and Benjamin Jackson; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Alyssa, Corbin, and Aiden Ware, Baby Girl Jackson (due next month); and brother, James Painter.

The family received friends Friday, November 18, 6 to 7 p.m., followed by her Memorial Service beginning at 7 p.m. at Fincastle Baptist Church, with Pastor Kevin Cummings officiating. Burial was private.

Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider Fincastle Baptist Church or Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad in her memory. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com.
