The Botetourt Kiwanis Club at its regular weekly meeting heard from Karen Messer-Bourgoin, Professor of Practice at Hollins University and the head of the Hollins Entrepreneurship Learning Institute. In her talk to the Kiwanians, Messer-Bourgoin described the ways in which the Institute combines the liberal arts with the habits of mind and practice that make successful entrepreneurs.
The Kiwanis Club also inducted a new member. Greg Otey, a retired Air Force general and project manager at Branch Builds, was inducted by Les Talbot.
Upcoming Kiwanis-sponsored events include a Las Vegas-style magic show at Attic Productions on March 6, a booth at the upcoming Freedom Fest at New Freedom Farm and a golf tournament at Ashley to support the club’s scholarships.
