The Botetourt Kiwanis Club has discussed holding an essay contest for Botetourt students this fall. The details have yet to be worked out, but the general goal will be to highlight the efforts of young people to find ways to assist other young people.
The Kiwanis Restaurant of the Week is Pancho Mexican Restaurant on Roanoke Road in Daleville. The Business of the Week is Purple Penny Insurance. Last week, Kiwanis members recognized Frank’s Pizza on Cloverdale Road near the Botetourt Athletic Club. The Business of the Week was Kilby-Sprinkle Realtors.
The next meeting of the Kiwanis Club will be Monday, August 24 at 7 p.m. Club members will hear an update on library programs in Botetourt County, especially programs for children. Guests are always welcome. Email Club President Ed Lynch at elynch@hollins.edu to be included on the Zoom call.
