The Botetourt Kiwanis Club at its most recent meeting heard from Dr. Ed Lynch, who spoke about his latest book on the Middle East. Lynch related how the Gulf nation of Qatar withstood a comprehensive boycott from its neighbors, using a combination of great imagination and enormous wealth. Club members also gathered at Hollywood’s restaurant on March 9 for a benefit sponsored by the restaurant.

At its April 11 meeting, the club will host Khari Ryder, Executive Director of the Botetourt Chamber of Commerce. On April 25, Dr. Mary Hinton, the President of Hollins University, will be the club’s special guest.

The Kiwanis Club’s annual Recycling Event will take place at Lord Botetourt High School on May 28.

The Kiwanians meet every other Monday at 7 p.m. at Bellacino’s. Meetings are also streamed on Zoom. For more information, contact Dr. Ed Lynch at elynch@hollins.edu.
