He was born September 12, 1926 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Ernest Nathan Lackey Sr. and Annie Lotts Lackey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lackey Baker. Mr. Lackey was a member of the Mt. Junior was also a member of the James Evans Masonic Lodge No. 72, and the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club.

Surviving are one sister, Florence Lackey Daughtrey of Richmond; two nephews, Ernest C. Baker and wife Pam of Buchanan and Thomas K. Daughtrey, Jr.; one niece, Donna D. Martinez and husband Eladio, all of Richmond.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doris Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in High Bridge Presbyterian Cemetery.
