The Lord Botetourt boys are the third seed in the Region 3D soccer tournament, giving the Cavaliers an opening round home game. Botetourt will host Patrick County Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. in Daleville.

Abingdon and Northside are the top two seeds in the region. The second round is scheduled for May 28.

“I am very optimistic with how the bracket has arranged itself,” said LB coach Tim Wright. “We’re sitting in a good position and our start to this season has a big part to do with that. My hopes is though graduation is here and school is out, the guys will still embrace the commitment they made back in February when they showed up to tryouts.  My biggest encouragement to the team and myself is to enjoy what we have left and to enjoy the people that we are doing this with.”

Botetourt comes into the tournament at 12-5. The Cavaliers lost in the quarterfinal round of the Blue Ridge District tournament last week, 5-4 to William Fleming.
