The Lord Botetourt girls will be in Vinton tonight as William Byrd High School plays host to the Blue Ridge District soccer tournament. LB will play the winner of a first round game between William Fleming and Northside at 5 p.m. at Byrd’s Patterson Stadium.

Host Byrd and Staunton River will meet in the second game, and the winners will play for the BRD championship Friday at 5 p.m. at Byrd. The Cavaliers come in with a 14-2 overall record after beating Byrd and William Fleming last week.
Against Byrd the Cavs won 4-0 in Vinton. Scoring for the Cavaliers were Briana Myerss, Mary-Randall Plunkett, Ally Spangler and Allie Plenge.

On Thursday the Cavaliers celebrated “Senior Night” with a 10-0 win over William Fleming at LB. Senior Marlee Newson had a three-goal hat trick in just her second game back after foot surgery. Carleigh Booth and Chloe Beasley split time in the goal to pick up the shutout.
