The Lord Botetourt girls saw their soccer season come to an end with a loss to William Byrd in the quarterfinal round of the Region 3D tournament. The Cavaliers fell 6-4 in Daleville.
It was the third loss of the season to the Blue Ridge District rival Terriers, and this was the closest of the three. Taylor Jones scored two goals for LB, Kendall Nixon had a goal and an assist and Maggie Hoover scored. With the loss LB ended the season at 10-9.
“We basically started the season with just a handful of returning players,” said coach Giuseppe D’Arpa. “Even though the season was up and down, there were signs of great things to come for LB.”
