Lord Botetourt will have a full schedule of sports this week after the Cavaliers took a week off for spring break.

Action began Monday when the LB boys soccer team traveled to Roanoke to take on William Fleming in a Blue Ridge District match. The Colonels scored in the opening minutes and made it hold up for a 1-0 win over LB.

“The Cavaliers fought hard, but could not connect on their shots,” said LB coach Taylor Leonard. “We had multiple chances in the second half.”

On Tuesday, the girls tennis team returned with a match at E.C. Glass and the softball team played host to James River. Today, the baseball team will host Brookville, while the track team opens with a meet at Staunton River.

Things really start to crank up Thursday. Both tennis teams are in action in Salem, with the boys at the high school and the girls at the Salem Civic Center courts. The girls soccer team is also at Salem, while the boys host Salem in Daleville. The softball team goes to Hidden Valley.

On Friday, the baseball, softball and girls soccer teams all play host to Franklin County and the boys soccer team goes to Rocky Mount. This Saturday, the track team is scheduled to run in the Colonel Classic at William Fleming High.
