LB senior Falan Peters takes off in the Region 300-meter run.

The Class 3 and 4 indoor track meets will be held at Liberty University next week and Lord Botetourt will have six athletes competing. The Cavaliers qualified for the state meet with strong performances in Saturday’s Region 3D meet at the Kerr-Cregger indoor fieldhouse at Roanoke College in Salem.

“We had a fantastic meet Saturday with multiple PRs,” said LB coach Michelle Gantzhorn.

Alexa Carillo, Demetri Toliver, Seth Huard, Rye Jackson, Jonah Clark, Meredith Griffin, Olivia Harvey, Carter Hudson, Jack McDaniel, Jackson Kemper, Morgan Wilmer and Elizabeth Meadows all had personal records in their individual events.

Jillian Harris, a sophomore, placed second in girls 55-meter hurdles to qualify for states. Toliver, a junior, won the shot put with a new meet record and fellow junior Kendal Howard advanced with a third place finish. Senior Elijah Rose placed second in the high jump and junior Rye Jackson placed third in the 1000-meter run.

The six individuals from LB who will compete in Lynchburg next week are Harris, Rose, Seth Huard, Jackson, Toliver and Howard.

“As a coach I could not be prouder,” said Gantzhorn.
