Appreciates support for Blue Ridge Library used book sale
Editor:
On May 19 and 20 the Friends of the Blue Ridge Library held their semi-annual used book sale. The proceeds from these sales help fund various library programs such as guest speakers, the summer reading program, adult’s and children’s audio books, stickers for the children and in partnership with the county the new “Coffee Corner” at the library. This book sale was our best ever!
The Friends would like to thank everyone who contributed books for the sale and everyone who bought books at the sale. Without you there would be no sale. Ron Watson and Gary Kappesser were there to move books to the library on Wednesday, along with Derrick Freeman, Ben and Roseann Jones, Jim Jamison, Billie Dunn, Neal Fraizer and Bill Bishop. Derrick Freeman helped sort the books on Wednesday and Thursday. Junior National Honor Society member Jackson Rivenbark helped Ron and Gary move books to the Goodwill truck on Saturday. If we missed naming anyone who helped, you know who you are and we thank you very much for your help. Finally, thanks to Food Lion for providing breakfast and dessert items for the Friends both days.
New members of the Friends are always welcome. For information about the group contact me at 977-0067.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our fall sale. If you have books you would like to donate for the sale please bring them to the library. We are no longer taking donations of magazines so please so not bring them to the library.
Karen Kappesser, Secretary
