Botetourt Fair coming August 5-6
As a reminder to the community, the Botetourt County Fair will be held at the Buchanan Fairgrounds on Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6. We invite you to come for exhibits, agricultural fair demonstrations, a local food walk, youth activities, a mechanical bull, and livestock shows and auctions! There will be multiple food vendors on site, and much more! A perennially favorite event is the “homemaking competition,” which I am happy to organize this year.
The following divisions will be available for traditional fair exhibitions:
Division 1 – Baked Goods
DIvision 2 – Canned Preserved Goods
Division 3 – Honey
Division 4 – Needlework and Sewing
Division 5 – Crafts
Division 6 – Woodworking
DIvision 7 – Photography
DIvision 8 – Produce
Division 9 – Crops
Division 10 – Floral Arrangement
Division 11 – Eggs
Entries will be accepted at the fairgrounds between 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday, August 5. No entries will be accepted Saturday morning. Judging will be completed Friday night and entries will be on display for the day on Saturday. For more information of each category, please visit www.botetourtcountyfair.com.
