Harris is write-in Buchanan mayoral candidate

I’m Tristan Harris and I want to be mayor of the Town of Buchanan. My wife, Kerri, our two daughters and I have lived here in Buchanan for over four years, and have made it our home. We feel very lucky to have found such a great town, and are looking forward to raising our family in such a wonderful community.

I am currently the practice manager of Natural Bridge Animal Hospital, and am an entrepreneur with residential and commercial investments in the Town of Buchanan. I also have experience in residential, commercial, and railroad construction. I am a hard worker, a creative thinker, and an optimist who can see multiple sides of issues, which I know will be helpful for this new role.

My wife and I moved to Virginia in 2016 when we purchased Natural Bridge Animal Hospital just up the road from Buchanan in Natural Bridge Station. We immediately fell in love with the area and started keeping our eyes open for where we would plant our permanent roots.

The first time we drove through Buchanan it did not seem to be the most inviting place, with a notable lack of activity along Main Street much of the time we traveled through. As the months went on, however, we became more acquainted with the town and many of its amazing residents, and started warming to the idea of settling down here. Things soon lined up perfectly, and in March of 2018, we moved to Buchanan, into a house on Red Horse Lane. It didn’t take long for this community to feel like home.

In the years we have lived here, we have been very excited to see some great progress in the town. Many of the empty storefronts are now filled, the foot traffic along Main Street has increased, and a number of events have engaged the residents and brought in some great tourism. I feel like the Town of Buchanan holds so much potential to be considered a true destination to visit and a highly desired place to call home.

It is my goal as mayor to execute the will of the citizens of Buchanan. I will do my best to listen to all issues and concerns brought to me, and bring such items to council. I will also urge town residents to bring their own ideas to council during regular meetings so we can work together as a community to make Buchanan the best it can be. I look forward to partnering with you to make sure our beautiful little town runs efficiently and continues to rise to its potential.
