Cindy Fisher Lewis, 58, of Ayden, N.C., went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 21, 2020 in Catawba at her mother’s home following a nine-year battle with cancer.

Cindy was born in Roanoke January 19, 1962 and lived in Ayden for more than 20 years.  She was the daughter of Alfred “Buddy” Fisher (Dollie) of Roanoke and Annie Rhodes Strong (Dean) of Catawba.

Cindy was employed with Wells Fargo and retired after more than 30 years of service.  Cindy had a big personality with a contagious smile, outgoing, and loved the beach.

The family wants to say “thank you” to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and the Cindy’s caretakers: Sarah, Donna, and Mea for their special care.  Also, a very grateful heartfelt thanks to Dr. Maria Picton and Linda King of Physicians East of Greenville, North Carolina for their wonderful care and friendship.

In addition her parents, Cindy is survived by sisters, Kay Fisher Hakola of Salem, and April Fisher Smith (Bryan) of Vero Beach, Fla.; and special nephew, Josh Smith (Leanne).

A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Union Cemetery with Ben Peyton officiating.  The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 22 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 6045 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, 24019. Online condolences may be made to Cindy’s family at www.rader-funeralhome.com.
