Summer 2025 Kickoff Event

Kick off this year’s Summer Reading Challenge with an evening of fun and creativity for the whole family! Once we get you registered in the Summer Reading Challenge, design your own creation at the Tie-Dye Station, dance through bubbles with The Foam Party Guy, and dive into action with Gaga Ball and the Bounce House, courtesy of Botetourt Parks & Recreation! Ron Collins is an American professional taiko drumming performer and instructor that has performed for a vast array of audiences. Using a collection of taiko drums he has made from discarded barrels, Sensei (Teacher) Ron Collins entertains and educates audiences with an exciting traditional presentation of an ancient Japanese art form.

Summer Reading Challenge 2025 

It’s time for the Summer Reading Challenge! Beginning May 17, kids 12 and under can grab a reading log at any of the four library branches, Botetourt schools, or at the Summer Kickoff Event. Read books across twelve genres to earn collectible “brag tags” and complete the challenge! Register through the Beanstack mobile app, track progress, and return your finished log to your home branch before July 12 for a chance to win prizes!
