Link, Sandra Wills

February 13, 2024

0

Sandra Wills Link made her transition to Heaven on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with her family by her side.

She was born September 8, 1949 in Lexington, daughter of the late Charles “Buddy” Wills and Nancy Wills. Sandra was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leonard Link, and her brother, Charles Phillip Wills.

Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, she transformed from her tired earthly vessel to her healed and pure heavenly form.

Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, MeeMaw, sister, aunt and friend.  She had a sincere and kind heart and was known to frequently provide a home for God’s creatures that she found in need of help and love.  She never met a stranger and brought joy and sunshine wherever she went.  Sandra loved flowers but her favorite was the poppy.  In many cultures, the poppy is seen as not as a symbol of beauty but also resurrection and eternal life.  We can take comfort in knowing that in heaven, she is whole again and with her loved ones who went before her.  We hope in life that she knew that the beauty of the poppy was pale compared to her own.  Her love will live on in the memories and stories her family shares.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Laurie Ann Link-Wines and husband Gregory; son, Chris Link and wife Carman; granddaughter, Chloe Wines and boyfriend, Stephen; step-grandsons, Jordan, Sam and Blake; sister, Angie Henson (Steve); sister-in-law, Frances Wills; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews who all loved and adored their loving “Aunt Sissy.”

The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the staff at Shenandoah Valley Health and Rehab for the wonderful care and love that they provided to Sandra.

A memorial service will take place at Ben Salem Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Furever Friends Lodge, 2463 Beech Avenue, Buena Vista 24416. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com or 540-254-3000.
