The Daleville-Fincastle Lions presented the Botetourt Food Pantry with a $6,000 check from the Lions Club and the Lions of Virginia Foundation at their October 18 meeting. In addition to this financial support, the Lions volunteer one Saturday each month to assist with the distribution of food at the Botetourt Food Pantry.

In 2021 the Botetourt Food Pantry served an average of 92 families (328 people) each month. In 2022 the number of families needing food assistance has increased significantly.

In keeping with their Motto “We Serve,” the Daleville-Fincastle Lions serve Botetourt County by providing vision screening for Botetourt County schools, volunteering at the Troutville Fire Dept., trash pickup on Catawba Road, eyeglasses collection, eyeglasses assistance, Read Across America, Children’s Cancer Project and the annual Bland Music Contest.

If you are service minded and would like to join this service organization, contact membership chair Teresa Fridley at tcfrid@gmail.com
