Four members of the Daleville-Fincastle Lions Club helped at the Botetourt Food Pantry in Fincastle on Saturday, Feb. 25.  Among the other helpers, there were several young people from the Honor Society at Central Academy Middle School, who helped tremendously. They scooped up bags of food to be delivered as cars drove up, and helped to organize food on shelves inside the pantry.

Next Saturday, March 4, the Lions will have the Bland Music Contest at The Glebe starting at 2 p.m. There are 15 contestants this year– the biggest turnout to date. It is free and open to the public. There will be pianists, vocalists, various instrumentalists, and song/dance. The winners will progress to the semi- regional competition.

Serving the community is an important part of the Lions Club. Anyone interested may attend a meeting, held at noon on the third Tuesday of each month in the “Game Room” at The Glebe in Daleville. In addition to physically serving the community, the Lions raise money for service projects that help the community and the residents.
