Local swimmers compete in state swim meet

The Lord Botetourt and James River swimmers competed in state meets at the Swim RVA pool in Richmond last week. The Knights were in the Class 2 meet on Thursday while LB competed in the Class 3 meet on Saturday.

The River boys placed 13th out of 29 teams competing. River’s 200 IM Medley team placed 7th overall with a Personal Record of 2:03.64. That team consisted of Nathan Etzler, Cameron Rodgers, Walker Wilson and Colin Cook and the Freestyle Relay placed 14th in the State with a time of 1:50.24 with the same four. Wilson was 15th in the 50 Freestyle and 11th in the 100 Butterfly.

On Saturday Lord Botetourt’s Angelina Zeidan took a second in the girls 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:55:11. No other results were reported.
