The Botetourt YMCA will be the site of a high school swim meet on Thursday with both local schools participating. Hidden Valley will join Lord Botetourt and James River for a three-team meet beginning at 7 p.m.

Last week in Salem the LB girls took first place in a meet with Roanoke Catholic and the host Spartans. First place finishes included Layne Jones in the 200 Free and 100 Back and Hannah Mizuba in the 50 Free and 100 Butterfly. Botetourt had many first time swimmers who raced to good times.

The Cavaliers have just one boy on the team this year, Matthew Lee, and he drops 15 seconds from his previous best 100 Freestyle time.

Thursday’s meet is the last before Christmas for the Cavaliers while James River also has a meet next Tuesday, December 20, at the Salem YMCA against Glenvar before breaking for the holidays.
